The 8-Inch Siege Howitzer, registry number 42, was cast at Fort Pitt Foundry in 1862. As manufactured it weighs 2,562 pounds. In service it would have been mounted on a Siege and Garrison carriage resembling but more heavily built than a field carriage. It is displayed in Lord Mason Park in Conneautville.
In service it would have fired an 46-pound projectile with a 4 pound propellant charge. Range at 12 degrees was 1,986 yards.
