Fort Clinch on Amelia Island, Florida
Fort Clinch is a US Army fort of the Third System built on Amelia Island, Florida. Seized by Confederates in 1861 it was reoccupied by the US Army in 1862. It is interpreted to it’s occupation by the US Army during the Civil War.
Note: The 10-Inch Rodmans which “arm” the fort are very well made replicas.
Fort Clinch is an example of a very well maintained, interpreted, “rearmed”, and displayed fort. I highly recommend that you visit!
