USS Niagara’s Armament
USS Niagara was outfitted with an unusual battery of 11-Inch Dahlgrens when first built. Refitted in 1863, she carried a fearsome battery of twenty 11-Inch Dahlgrens and twelve 150-Pounder Parrott Rifles - making her the most heavily armed ship of the American Civil War.
