The 32-Pounders of 57 Hundredweight of Stoneham, Massachusetts

Four US Navy 32-Pounders of 57 Hundredweight are displayed around a monument to soldiers and sailors who died in the War of the Rebellion in Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham, Massachusetts.

The monument to Civil War soldiers and sailors in Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham, Massachusetts is surrounded by four US Navy 32-Pounders of 57 Hundredweight. The four 32-Pounders are:

  • 32-Pounder of 57 Hundredweight Number 319 manufactured by West Point Foundry in 1848. As manufactured it weighed 57-1-18 (6,430 pounds). It served aboard the mortar schooner USS Sophronia.

  • 32-Pounder of 57 Hundredweight Number 372 manufactured by Tredegar Foundry in 1848. As manufactured it weighed 57-2-19 (6,459 pounds). It served aboard USS Albatross.

  • 32-Pounder of 57 Hundredweight Number 373 manufactured by Tredegar Foundry in 1848. As manufactured it weighed 57-1-25 (6,437 pounds). It served aboard USS Albatross.

  • 32-Pounder of 57 Hundredweight Number 489 manufactured by Cyrus Alger and Company in 1848. As manufactured it weighed 57-2-11 (6,451 pounds).
